Experience the quieter side of Ubud, Bali’s arts capital. Discover the city’s hidden gems, and enjoy its tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the main city life.
What You Will Do
Pick up from your hotel in South Bali by our guide at approximately 08:30 hrs. Drive to Batuan village to visit Pura Desa Batuan with its architecture and ornaments. Next stop is Setia Dharma House of Masks and Puppets that has the world’s largest collection of masks and puppets from regions across Indonesia, as well as from various places in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Then it is to John Hardy Jewelry to see the artisans and designers at work. Be fascinated as they weave chains link by link with their hands, hammer metal into a richly textured surface, and solder flattened granulated discs. The skill of these workers has been handed down from generations. Stop by the onsite boutique to buy some local wear. An authentic organic Balinese lunch follows with the John Hardy’s team under the shade of banyan trees.
Your journey continues to the famed Sacred Monkey Forest, home to long-tailed macaques. Then a short drive to the Ubud market where you can shop for local handicraft and art products at competitive prices, and don’t forget to bargain. Transfer back to your hotel.
Why Book This: A full day discovery of Ubud with its arts and craft, house of masks and puppets, and John Hardy Jewelry.
