Conquer your fear of heights and head up to the viewing platform at ArcelorMittal Orbit, the UK’s tallest sculpture. It was intended to be a lasting legacy from London’s 2012 Olympics and it surely is. From the top of the sculpture, you can see 20 miles over the London skyline.
At 114.5 meters tall, London’s ArcelorMittal Orbit pierces the city sky. This attraction is definitely something you want to pencil into your sightseeing list.
Designed by Turner Prize-winning artist Sir Anish Kapoor, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is so big that heading up is not for the faint of heart. It’s six times the height of the Angel of North in Tyne and Wear, 22 meters taller than the Statue of Liberty, and it weights the same as 1136 Black Cabs.
Enjoy a step-free journey up to two Viewing Platforms via one of two lifts. The views you’ll get across London from this monstrous sculpture is simply magical.
