Leave the hustle and bustle of Taipei city and explore mountainous area of Jinguashi, where you can find the Gold Museum. Step back into time as you explore the Gold Museum and learn about the history of how mining was done decades ago. Over at the Gold Building, which was the former Office of Mining, you can find the exhibition of mining tools, daily appliances and documents from the Japanese Occupation period. The museum recreates the memories of old times with activities that allow you to experience the miners’ hard work in the dark tunnels. For a more authentic experience, you can also choose the miner’s lunch box and indulge in a delicious Taiwanese lunch! Visit the Gold Museum to learn more about the history of mining in Taiwan.

*Closed on the first Monday of every month (except National Holiday)


Miner’s Café:

  • Children aged 12 and below as well as seniors age 65 and above can enter the museum for free
  • Smoking is not allowed within the exhibition area 
  • Please note that there is additional cost for the experience activities in the museum, please purchase onsite 
  • Guided tour services are available, please register at the Tourist Information Center counter 10 minutes before the start of the tour
  • Please get your hand stamped by the staff when you enter. The hand stamp is required to enter the building and the staff will examine the hand stamp before you enter
  • The Gold Museum is closed on the first Monday of every month, Chinese New Year's Day, New Year's Eve and Natural Disaster day-off
How to Use
Gold Museum: 
  • Present QR Code to the staff at the entrance and get your hand stamped. 
  • The hand stamp is required to enter the Four Joined Japanese-Style Residence, Environmental Building, Gold Refining Building, Jin-shuei Special Exhibition Hall and Gold Building
Miner's Cafe:
  • Present QR Code at the counter of the Miner's Cafe

Terms and Conditions

  • Changi Recommends and the appointed operator will not be responsible for any accidents, loss of property or damaged caused by individual negligence
  • The e-ticket/e-voucher cannot be exchanged for cash or used on more than one occasion
  • Any alteration(s) on the e-ticket/e-voucher will not be accepted by Changi Recommends and the appointed merchant
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances that affects tour departure or ticket/voucher invalidity, customers will be notified and be advised accordingly

Cancellation Policy:

  • No refunds will be entertained for cancellations
  • There will be no refunds even if included items are not utilised by the visitor
  • In the event of late comers/no show, it would be considered as cancellation and no refund will be given

Upon purchase of the ticket, you will receive an email confirmation with e-ticket/e-voucher within two days. Tours and tickets are subjected to availability and are not confirmed until a second confirmation email is received.
