From stalking predators and their restless prey to others that scurry to forage for food, a trip to the Night Safari reveals amazing scenes of animal activity that go well hidden during the day.
The world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals, the Night Safari spans 35 hectares of secondary forest and is home to over 2,500 animals of 137 species, of which 38% are endangered. Hop aboard the park’s tram and let it take you through 8 areas resembling different geographical zones. The naturalistic enclosures bring some nocturnal residents within metres of you. With Asian lions, Malaysian Tigers and rare magnificent beasts such as the rare Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros all active and visible in their full glory, this is one 40-minute train ride you’ll never forget.
Venturing off on foot provides thrills of its own. Explore special trails that take you through pockets of undisturbed forest and watch skilled hunters such as the Fishing Cat patiently stalk and catch its prey.
If your moonlit adventures leave you craving a late-night meal of your own, head over to Bongo Burgers for large portions of freshly grilled fare. Get your fill and enjoy a drink or two, with tribal dancers performing thrilling fire-eating and blowpipe demonstrations. Fitting entertainment for a truly wild night out.
