Upon boarding your private chartered vehicle (limousine, van, or bus), begin discovering Kyoto, the home of Japan’s most beautiful shrines. The first stop is the Fushimi Inari Shrine, where you will be greeted by numerous fox statues (these animals are regarded as messengers, and are often seen around inari shrines!).
After that, head to Kinkakuji Temple, a designated National Special Historic Site. Raking in crowds of visitors annually, this Zen Buddhist Temple is one of the most popular buildings in Japan. Otherwise known as the Golden Pavilion, the sophisticated architecture is impressive and awe-inspiring.
Stop for lunch before you continue your journey to Sanjusangendo, where many national treasures lay. This includes the statue of the temple’s main deity, the Thousand Armed Kannon.
Next, visit the Kiyomizu Temple, which was constructed without the use of a single nail! Round up your adventure by learning about the history behind this architectural masterpiece before heading back to Central Kyoto.
