Jomon Culture Center Admission & Activity

Visit the Jomon Culture Center and try one of 5 cultural activities available

The Jomon culture, which has matured and flourished while adapting to the severe changes in the natural environment, is a unique Japanese culture that has lasted for more than 10,000 years, unlike another in the world. The Jomon Culture Center is where you can learn the life of the people living in the Jomon culture through the exhibits. This is the museum that permanently displays the only national treasure in Hokkaido, "Hollow Clay Figure," known by a nickname of "Kakku." There are many other relics such as various earthenware and stoneware excavated from the remains of the Jomon period in Hakodate, centering on the Minami Kayabe Jomon Archeological Site. Get a thorough knowledge of Jomon culture.
