If you're ready for a fascinating adventure, put on your walking shoes and bring your curiosity. Embark on a walking tour of Montreal’s RESO, or "la ville souterraine," the world's largest underground pedestrian network. The tour is completely indoors — perfect for the bitter cold of winter or summer’s blazing heat.
After meeting your local guide downtown, you’ll head underground to experience the network of subterranean tunnels, passageways, and buildings. With its start in the early 1960's, the RESO has blossomed into 21 miles of tunnels and passageways that connect office towers, shopping centers, performing arts venues, hotels, university pavilions, department stores, exhibition halls, and the metro system.
As you amble through the underground world, discover creative artwork, interesting spaces, and cutting-edge architecture along the way. After exploring the hidden world beneath Montreal’s streets, you’ll emerge to head up to the 360 Observatory at the top of the Place Ville-Marie to gaze upon the world under which you just explored.
