Day 1: Banff to Rampart Creek
Your tour begins with visits to the stunning Moraine Lake (seasonal), and one of the world’s most famous lakes, Lake Louise. From there it’s on to the Icefields Parkway to take in the jagged mountain peaks, glaciers, raging rivers, and more turquoise lakes, all the while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. You’ll make stops to see the Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, and the impressive Mistaya Canyon, before arriving to the rustic wilderness hostel alongside Rampart Creek. Once there you can take a dip in the creek, before relaxing in a wood-burning sauna and enjoying a campfire under the stars.
Day 2: Rampart Creek to Jasper
On your second day you can tick another national park off your list as you enter Jasper. You will stop to look for mountain goats at the Goats and Glaciers Viewpoint, before you make your way to Athabasca Falls, one of the most powerful and picturesque waterfalls in the Rockies. It will then be onward to Maligne Canyon, the deepest canyon in Jasper, for a scenic hike that crosses several bridges with amazing views into the canyon. Afterwards, you will roll into Jasper's town site where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore on your own.
Day 3: Jasper to Banff
Your final day will be another day of jaw dropping vistas along the Icefields Parkway as the tour makes its way back south. The main attraction today is the Columbia Icefield, the largest icefield in the Rocky Mountains at 325 square kilometers. You’ll have the chance to get up close to the Athabasca Glacier, either on a hike to the top of the glacier, or on board a massive Ice Explorer vehicle. Your tour will later end that evening following a group dinner back in Banff.
