Puffing Billy Heritage and Steam Train Journey (from Melbourne)
Take a ride down the majestic Dandenong Ranges on board the iconic, original Puffing Billy steam train which has been running since the early 1900s.
Only an hour away from east of Melbourne, sit on board the preserved steam railway that takes you from the busy city to the otherwise tranquil and perfectly scenic Victoria region. With open air carriages, passengers can breathe in the freshest air as the train runs through the towering rainforest of Mountain Ash trees. The best (fun) way to do it? Dangling the legs out over one side of the carriage. Here, you’ll also indulge in a hot cuppa Devonshire tea and get up close to the native local birds – and handfeed them.
