Your expert guide will take you down the 4×4 track, hitting the surf side of Bribie, also known as Woorim Ocean Beach. Once reaching the sand, this is where you might get to spot local pods of dolphins frolicking together in the waves. At times during season, there may even be a chance to spot whales moving up and down the coast line.
As you make your way up the beach towards Fort Bribie WWII Bunkers, you will likely spot many fascinating and beautiful native birds along the way. Feel free to ask your guide to know more about them. You will be amazed by the history of the great WWII forts built in the 1940’s and there will be plenty of time to explore them and the surrounding area. Feel free to take selfies or ask your guide to take a group snap shot. There is also time after a short walk around the forts to go for a swim & play on the beach (please bring a towel and/or wear swimming gear if you want to swim).
Along the journey up the beach, there will be several stops to view wildlife and the various lagoons within the Bribie Island National Park. After the tour of Fort Bribie, this is when the real adventure and fun begins when we head inland and hit the 4WD tracks. The scenery of the Bribie Island National Park changes quite dramatically, from rugged and native Australian bush and wetlands, to open man-built forests and dirt roads, all in the blink of an eye. These areas of the island are only accessible in high clearance and low range 4WD’s with the appropriate permits.
With a stop for opportunity to see local kangaroos, goannas and other wildlife at Poverty Creek, you’ll enjoy the serenity and stunning views of the The Glass House Mountains amongst the horizon. After the included picnic lunch and group photo in front of the stunning Pumicestone Passage, we continue along the 4WD track to an area known as White Patch.
